Happy Fall, Y'all!

I know that the first day of fall is technically still a few days away, but this past weekend sure did feel like fall.  The weather was fall-like, and we did some very fall-ish activities!  We went to the 2nd UGA home game of the season.  Despite having gone 0-2 in the first 2 games, we were pretty confident the Dawgs would pull off the win against Coastal Carolina (where Josh's cousin Jacqui goes, and is the marching band drum major).  The boys did a lot better this week compared to last week (it helped that there was nobody sitting on the row in front of us).  We stayed until the start of the 4th quarter.  By that point is was 52-0, so we felt confident that the win was safe.

On Sunday we headed up to Ellijay to go apple picking. We've only done this the last couple of years, but it has become a favorite fall activity.  We like to go to Hillcrest Orchards.  They definitely have enough stuff to do there to make it worth the drive.  We always enjoy taking the tractor/wagon ride through the orchard, and the boys love the big slide down the hill.  And of course picking our own apples.  We skipped the petting zoo this year, and nobody wanted to milk the cow this year either.  But they both sat on the bull and enjoyed jumping on the jumping pillow.

(he was not actually scared - he just kept making this funny face, because it made the rest of us laugh)

After playing, having lunch, and picking apples, we did one last thing before heading home - we watched the pig races!  We knew they had them, but had never stayed for them.  The lady we talked to when we got there told us that it was a "must-see" attraction.  We asked where the races are held, and she said, "In the amphitheater behind the moonshine museum - it has stadium seating!"  Behind. The. Moonshine. Museum.  It doesn't get much better than that.  The pigs had names like Elvis Pigsley, Donald Rump, Kevin Bacon, Hamgelina Jowlie, Johnny Hash, Arnold Schwarzenhogger...good times.

Then today Zachary lost tooth #6.  It had been loose for about a week or so, and he finally wiggled it out today.  He now has 4 tooth holes and seriously looks like a Jack-O-Lantern.  I've joked with him about changing his name to Jack, but he doesn't think that's funny.
