Catching Up, Part 2

Saturday, October 5
This was a busy, busy day for us.  We started the day by going to a birthday party for a sweet friend.  It was in a community room at a park, and the lady running the party kept them BUSY the whole time - it was great!

After the birthday party, we headed to Crabapple Fest - it's the new combination of a couple of events that have traditionally been held in our area.  They have a lot of antiques, but this year they added food trucks, and a pretty big kids area.  We had driven there, but Zachary had signed up to go to a Jiu-Jitsu demonstration at his karate school, so he & Josh had to get going, and Liam wanted to play for a bit longer.  It was a nice day, so Josh & Zachary took the car, and Liam and I decided we would walk home.  That was a great plan, until Liam decided about 5 minutes into the walk home that he was tired and needed a ride on my shoulders.  I walked the better part of the mile home with him on my shoulders.  I was wiped out by the time we got home!

Later that day we watched the Georgia-Tennessee game on tv.  It was tense, as usual, and required overtime, but thankfully the Dawgs won again, bookending my birthday week with wins!

My mom & Pappy had also come over for my birthday dinner that evening.  Normally we do that at my mom's house, but because of our busy day and the timing of the Georgia game, we moved it to our house.  We had my favorites - lasagna, garlic bread, salad, and chocolate cake from Rhodes Bakery - YUM!

Sunday, October 6
This was Zachary's first day back at flag football since getting cast off.  Technically he was supposed to sit out of sports for a week after getting the cast off, but he was so close to the week, and so we decided to tape his fingers up and let him go.  He had a blast - it was his first time getting to play in a game, and he loved it!

We also had conferences with both boys' teachers.  They went really well, which is always nice.  And Zachary wrapped up the 5-week Bible Study at church, Lost in the Scriptures, with a "lock-in".  It wasn't really a lock-in, even though they called it that - it was more like a kids' night out.  It sounded like he had fun though!
