Four

Four...That's how many ear infections Liam has now had - IN A ROW. He had the first one back in October. We went for his re-check in November and he had another one (#2). We went for his re-check when we got back from Disney, and he had another one (#3). Number 3 was the one that resulted in our lovely penicillin allergy rash. The rash is almost gone (although he still gets it on his face every now & then), but they wanted us back today to check his ears since we had stopped the antibiotics from #3 early. Doctor looked - yep. Infected. So this is #4. We have a new antibiotic - one that is not derived from penicillin, so we'll see how that goes. I think she said that if this isn't cleared up in 2 weeks when we go back again, we'll talk about antibiotic injections, and if that doesn't work, then we go to an ENT. He finally seems to be getting back to himself (that allergic reaction kicked his butt - he was not himself for the past week), so I hate it that he still has junk in his ear.

On the bright side, today was my last day of work for the year - YAY! It was also the kids' last day at school for the year, as their school closes for a week & a half around Christmas. Even better is that Josh is off just about all this time too. He has to work Friday, but is otherwise going to be here the rest of the time. This is nice because somehow he usually seems to get stuck working most of the days around Christmas & New Years. We have some fun things planned while we're home (have to keep Zachary occupied or he will get into mischief!). Not sure how much updating I'll do during this time - we'll see.
