After being spoiled with unexpected wireless internet access the first 3 days of our trip, we were disappointed when the internet went down on Wednesday & never came back up. It was supposedly a statewide outage (at least, that's what we had heard), and the conspiracy theorist in me thought that perhaps it had something to do with the SC governor - that was the same day that the news broke that he had been having an affair with a woman in Argentina. It was just a weird week, newswise, all around. First there was Ed McMahon. Then Farrah Fawcett, and a few hours later Michael Jackson (the conspiracy theorist came back out with that one, pondering whether he had actually died, or whether he had faked his death to get out of doing all those concerts in London that he was supposed to do).

But, our trip was fun. I think towards the end of the week Zachary & Jacob had started getting a little tired of each other. There was more bickering & less sharing, but luckily there was no blood. By the end of the week Liam was a beach pro & we are all hoping to plan another trip back there next year. This was our 3rd time on Fripp Island, but the 3rd different condo we had stayed in. We'd probably rent this one again. It was nice, although we spent the first 4 days fighting with all the flies that had come in - then we found the fly swatter somewhere around Thursday. We also found a bunch of sand dollars. We saw a family nearby in the ocean picking them up, so we asked what the secret was. Apparently you just skim your hand just below the surface of the sand & they're all over the place (though they are brown & green - not what you normally see in stores). We collected enough for each of us to have one, plus 5 for Zachary's & Liam's teachers, and a couple of extra ones for insurance (in case any of them broke on the way home). Last night I Google'd what to do with them & they are now smooth & white!
