Snip-Snip...Zzzzzzzz...

Today we wrapped up a very busy weekend. After I spent most of the day yesterday painting, Josh & Zachary spent part of the morning assembling Liam's bed. Our crib was convertible, so at least we didn't have to buy a whole new bed. And we lucked out with an extra hour or so, when they called from swimming lessons to tell us that they were going to have to cancel today's lessons. When we got there last week the water was cold because the pilot light had gone out. I guess nobody is going in the pool there right now (not even to check on it) because the instructor arrived this morning to discover it freezing again. They determined that the heater is broken. So, they just called everyone to cancel. This was fine - it allowed Liam & me some time to run to Target & pick up the last few things we needed in order for his room to be functional tonight - extra set of sheets, blanket, etc. The room is now probably 90% done - and I do promise I'll post pictures. We just have not gotten anything hung up on the walls. I at least want to get some of the stuff hung up before taking the after shots.

Then this afternoon we headed over to Snip-Its to get BOTH boys haircuts. As if transforming the nursery into a big boy room for Liam wasn't enough, we had to get his first haircut today too. Zachary wanted to go first so that he could show Liam how to be a big boy for a haircut. So Zachary went first, and Liam pretty much ran around. Then it was Liam's turn. We put him in the chair, and the smart haircut lady went ahead & gave him a lollipop (normally you get that AFTER you get your haircut). Liam proceeded to sit there, sucking on his lollipop like nothing was happening. He didn't fuss, he didn't flinch...I couldn't believe it! When we took Zachary for his first haircut, he cried & screamed. He did that actually for the first few...For Liam it was like no big deal. We were so proud of him for being so good, and we were also very proud of Zachary for being a good big brother & showing Liam how it's done. My mom & Pappy had met us there to witness the big event, and afterwards we headed over to Ted's Montana Grill for a wonderful early-bird dinner (I think it was before 5:00 when we got there - we overestimated the amount of time needed for the haircuts...the place was empty today so there was no wait, plus, this was seriously the world's fastest haircutter!)

Here is Liam before the haircut...

About to start cutting...lollipop is in the mouth, ready to go!

After the cut - look how curly it is back there!

And tonight is Liam's first night in his bed. I'm not worried at all. He's pretty flexible & adaptable. Here is a picture of him all tucked in tonight. Even Flopsy is tucked in too! It's hard to tell in this picture, but he looks so small in this big bed.

And finally, here is a little video I took in the car on the way to the haircut place. Liam has been singing Jingle Bells a lot lately - which is funny, since Christmas has been over for like 3 weeks now. But I love the way he sings it "Jingle way! Jingle way!" Hee hee...You'll also notice in the middle of the video that he has a sock on his hand. On the way to the haircut, he removed both shoes and both socks, and then he put one of the socks on his hand. He started saying "Puppet show! Puppet show!" I thought it was clever that he was associating a sock on his hand with a puppet show, until later this evening when Josh was reading the boys their bedtime stories. Zachary had picked out "If You Give a Moose a Muffin", and there is one part in there where the moose wants to make sock puppets & put on a puppet show. I'm sure that is where Liam picked that up from. It always amazes me those little tiny details they pick up on, that we might otherwise just sort of gloss right over.

So adorable! He is just growing up way too fast! What a busy weekend. Love the bedding. You have 2 big boys now. :(

Liam has a pig just like Ivey's... and she has to have it all the time! I get cracked up because she wants her "pig" and "blanket" and it just makes me think of party food.

He looks super cute in his new big bed! :)
