I am Dumb...

And apparently really gullible too. So, there was no urinal seminar. :( Evidently it was just some guy who had had enough of people not flushing the urinals, who took it upon himself to put up a homemade sign (quick question though – why do you need to flush them? Couldn’t they just have a drain on them like a sink??? All that should be going in there is liquid…if other stuff is ending up in there, that is a whole other seminar…). Anyway, so someone put up the sign simply out of frustration. But it gets better…later in the day Josh went back to the bathroom, and someone had started making notes on the sign. They wrote “Yellow is mellow.” Hee hee hee. You just don’t see stuff like that in most ladies’ rooms (unless it’s a sketchy bar bathroom or something…).

We like to think that our kids don’t watch much TV. Zachary is allowed one kiddie show per day (or 20-30 minutes of a movie). We don’t really bother with baby videos for Liam much – Zachary was never into Baby Einstein, so we don’t usually think about trying it for Liam. However, they pick up on more than we think. The other day we had Seinfeld on at 6:30. It was a clip show, and one of the clips was from the episode where George pretended to apply for a job at a fake company called Vandelay Industries (a manufacturer of latex, that supposedly was based on Jerry’s apartment). Well, when the employment agency called Jerry’s # and Kramer (who was not in on things) answered the phone, George freaked out, and comes running out of the bathroom. He falls on his face, pants down around his ankles. Zachary says, “Is that George???” Maybe we shouldn’t watch Seinfeld after dinner anymore…Then last night we were catching up on the Olympics from Tuesday night – the final gymnastics stuff. Liam had been sitting up in front of his mirror, when all of a sudden he flops himself down on the floor, and rolled over a couple of times until he was right in front of the TV. He was facing it, and looking up watching gymnastics. At least it’s pretty wholesome TV, but that was a lot of effort just to get over to the TV.

Finally, I wanted to give a shout out to Homey D – I love you. A couple of weeks ago one of our garage door openers stopped working. We called a garage door guy (not as fancy as Meghan’s tree guy, but hey, we can have a guy too…). He came out and told us that the circuit board was fried, and that it would cost about as much to replace the whole thing as it would to just buy a new circuit board. He then offered to install a new opener that day. Uh, no thanks buddy – we’d like to shop around first. So we went to Homey D to price new garage door openers. Josh showed the guy there the manual to the one we have that broke, and the really nice guy there told us that it had a lifetime warranty! (which the crappy garage door guy didn’t mention, even though they are supposedly an authorized Genie dealer…). So we called Genie and they sent us out a new circuit board for free. That turned out to be the wrong one, so they sent us a different one, which worked. So I love Homey D for saving us about $300.

Glad I am not the only urinal challenged girl out there. Matt did answer most of my questions on how they work after his story the other night, but still think they seem odd. Why do they need water at the bottom and why do you need to flush them? I guess the really funny part though is that Matt is totally weirded out by the "green" ones with no water.

Any update on the peach cobbler?

No updates on peach cobbler yet...the problem we have is that we drop them off just before his teacher gets there in the morning, and she leaves at 4:30, which is before we pick him up. So it is rare that we get to see his actual teacher (and the girl in the afternoon in totally clueless - I could ask the teacher in the morning though...she might know. She's friends with Zachary's teacher, and she has the next class up, so she might know something). I'll keep you posted!

maybe someone brought one that had nuts in and it and for the same reason we have to take our shoes off at the airport from one guy, now no one can bring peach cobbler cause of one bad recipe :-)
