Shortly after each of the boys were born we planted a tree in the back yard for them. Zachary's tree has really grown.
But as you may remember from this post, Liam's tree did not fare as well. We had tried to replace it back in the spring, only to learn that apparently fall is tree-planting time. So we decided to get the new tree this weekend since the weather was so perfect. We went to Pike's & started looking at the trees, and then asked someone for advice. The first question he asked was if we wanted the tree to flower. Liam's answer - YES! A flowering tree it is. Seems we had a couple of options - pink or white. I may have mentioned before that my boy loves him some pink. So of course we had to pick a tree that makes pink flowers. We ended up with a Japanese Cherry Blosson tree (something like that - I'm not a botanist, so that may not be the technical name for it). Once Josh was able to chip away at the rocky clay in the back yard, the boys got to work helping plant the new tree.
Here's hoping for lots of pretty pink flowers come springtime!
Also, a little video to leave you with. Liam came home from school singing this one day. I just love how he makes "Jill" into a 2 syllable word when he sings this song!
