Cold Snap

Last weekend we had lots of plans outside, but the weather had other plans.  I had come down with a cold earlier in the week, and it took me out pretty much all week.  By the time the weekend rolled around, I was feeling a little better, but definitely not 100%.  All four of us were planning to run in the Drenched 5k – it sounded like so much fun!  A 5k where you get soaking wet?  Sign us up!  However, it was only going to be about 60 degrees in the morning, and we decided that none of us needed to be getting soaking wet in 60 degree weather.  So we bagged the race.  We were all bummed, but it was for the best.

On Sunday, Zachary & I were planning to go to the Braves game.  The weather was, once again, looking dicey, and we thought we were going to bag that too.  But at the last minute, we decided to chance it, so we headed to Turner Field.  It poured about 30 minutes before the game was supposed to start.  There was about a 45 minute rain delay, but then it was OK the rest of the time.  The main purpose for going to the game was so Zachary could run the bases afterwards.  Luckily the game wasn't too long, and he was able to do that.

Although it was funny – Zachary was less than impressed with the field once we were on it.  He said it was smaller than he thought it would be, and he didn't think the bases were very far – it seemed about as far as the bases at Wills Park.  Um, OK, yeah.  Anyway, he enjoyed it – got a t-shirt and a certificate.  Maybe we can try a Sunday again next year so Liam can do it.
