This week Zachary's baseball team played 2 games against the same team on back to back nights (Thursday & Friday). They had already beaten the Cardinals earlier in the season (that was the game that Zachary hit his triple and got the game ball). I guess the Cardinals decided they didn't want to lose to our Dodgers again, because they came out ready to play. There really aren't any highlights from either of these games, because the Dodgers lost on Thursday 19-8, and then on Friday they lost again 12-1 in a game that barely went 3 innings, and only lasted about 45 minutes. They got the mercy rule called. It was bad. Zachary struck out in both at-bats in the second game, which really upset him. He has only struck out one other time - he is used to getting big hits this year, so he was pretty upset. He did get a chance to play first base on Friday for the first time this season (we've had a regular rotation of just 3 boys who get to play first base). He did pretty well - he didn't make any outs, but some of the throws to him weren't all that good, so it's hard to blame him for that. I would like to forget these games, and be thankful that we've already played this team 3 times, so they shouldn't show up for us again.
