Zachary has said some really funny things lately. Here are some of them…
(Randomly, in the car one day…)
Zachary: Welcome to Starbucks! Would you like a venti white chocolate mocha?
(After buying him some new summer clothes…)
Zachary: Is that because all of my party clothes from last summer are too small?
(After asking him what he learned about in school one day…)
Zachary: We learned about the very first president – his name was George Washington!
Me: Very good! Do you know who the current president is?
Zachary: [thinking…] Abraham Lincoln. [note: when I told him that Abraham Lincoln WAS a president but not right now, he did correctly identify Barack Obama as the president]
(After a birthday party a couple of weeks ago…)
Me: Zachary, what was your favorite part about Brayden’s birthday party?
Zachary: Ummmm…the cake!
(And then because I didn’t learn the first time…)
Me: What was your favorite part about Luke’s birthday party?
Zachary: Eating a cupcake!
(On the way to get his head fixed on Saturday night…)
Zachary: I’ll probably have to spend the night in the hospital!!
(In the car yesterday…)
Zachary: Mommy, I know this much things [holds his arms about a foot apart]. But you know who knows THIS much things? Santa! [holds his arms apart as wide as they can go]
Me: Yeah, that Santa is a smart guy. How much do you think I know?
Zachary: [thinking…then moves his hands a little closer together] About this much.
(Thinking about our friend Luke’s party, which was at a children’s playhouse type of place…)
Zachary: You know what was so weird about Luke’s house? There weren’t any beds!
Me: Well that wasn’t actually Luke’s house. That was just the place they had his party.
Zachary: Oh…
(Discussing St. Patrick's Day…)
Zachary: St. Patrick's Day is my favorite holiday of all!
Me: Even better than Christmas or Halloween?
Zachary: Yes, because on St. Patrick's Day, everything is green - and green is my FAVORITE color!
Me: But there's no presents or candy on St. Patrick's Day - you like green better then presents or candy?
Zachary: Yes. [we'll see how that plays out when Halloween & Christmas roll back around…]
And just so I don’t leave him out, here are some Liamisms too…
(Picked up a rubber phone – like one of those stress ball things, only shaped like a phone…)
Liam: Not working! Needs batteries!
(Just about every day…)
Liam: Meeyulk! Meeyulk! [he generally gives up when we try to get him to say please – sometimes he’d just rather not have the milk than to say please]
(This morning when putting on his St. Patrick’s Day shirt…)
Liam: My Kroger shirt!
Me: ???????
Liam: Kroger. My shirt! [pointing at the shamrock on his shirt…]
Me: Ohhhhh…not Kroger – CLOVER!
