Soggy Dawgs

Saturday was UGA vs North Texas, with a 12:20 kickoff.  This should have been a cupcake game.  It was really scary up until the 3rd quarter when North Texas tied the score.  The 3rd quarter was also about the point at which the drizzle turned into full on rain.  So we put on our ponchos and sat in the rain.  It had been a long time since we’d sat in the rain during a game – and the kids have never been to a rainy game.  Can you believe that??  The last time it rained was during a night game, and we didn't start bringing them to night games until last year.  We knew going in that it would be hard for Liam.  Since the ground was already a little wet from the mist & drizzle, we had already decided we would leave the blanket at home, and not even give him the option to lay down on the ground.  He did really well though.  At one point he kept trying to lay his head in my lap, and it just wasn't really working, and he got a little agitated, but he got it together pretty quickly, and that was that.

We didn't even tailgate since kickoff was so early.  We just got food inside the stadium – and the funny thing was that we think we spent more on food & drinks in the game than we did afterwards when we went to Inokos for dinner!  We left after Georgia went up 38-21, and missed the last TD.  We got back to the car and changed into dry clothes, so we wouldn't be wet during dinner.  Only, the bottom had completely fallen out by the time we arrived at Inokos.  We ran for it from the car, but still got soaked.  Thank goodness we had changed!

All in all, it wasn't a bad day.  Yeah, it rained, and that wasn't a whole lot of fun.  But Georgia won, and the boys were fantastic.  There are a lot of Georgia fans who didn't even show up because of the rain, and some who came, but left once the rain arrived.  Our boys sat out in the rain like champs, and didn't really complain much at all.  The rolled with it, and showed that they are true Georgia fans!  We were so proud!
